This coin was designed by Christian Gobrecht. It weighs 4.18 grams with a composition that is 90% gold and 10% copper. It contains 0.12094 oz of pure gold. Its diameter is 18 mm with a reeded edge. It is reported that 133,540 of these coins were minted. To show the details of the coin, several pictures were taken with both the back and front of the coin oriented at different angles to the lighting source. Pictures showing an enlarged view of both the front and back of the coin were taken. These enlarged views can be seen by hovering over the magnifying glass in the upper left of the thumbnail pictures.
