1902 Maxfield Parrish - 107 YEARS OLD! "THE MAN IN THE MOON" This RARE, MINT CONDITION, 1902 (107 year's old) fine photogravure, (a photogravure has a raised quality that creates an overall greater image contrast, that a flat print does not have...), by MAXFIELD PARRISH, is in excellent condition. It was published by John Lane, The Bodley Head, London and New York. Stored safely away for 107 years, Image is mint. Caption for this fine photogravure is as follows: … ‘As we turned to go, the man in the moon, tangled in elm boughs, caught my eyes for a moment.' Some of the original images produced from this series were no longer the possession of Maxfield Parrish, so special arrangements were made to get permission of the various owners of the originals, for use, to create these incredibly fine photogravures! The artist signature, M P, is in the lower right area. This fine antique photogravure comes in a vintage style golden color wooden frame and is professionally framed using acid free materials to protect your investment. It is a prize for any Parrish collection or connoisseur. Getting rarer and harder to find all the time!

Overall size measures 8-3/8" X 6-7/8". Image size is 4" x 5-5/8" THIS IS NOT A MODERN REPRODUCTION! Maxfield Parrish illustrated for many books and a lot of magazines, including The Knave of Hearts, The Arabian Nights, Poems of Childhood, Knickerbocker's History of New York, Scribner's Magazines, Century Magazine, Harpers, Colliers, The Saturday Evening Post, Life, and the Ladies Home Journal, just to name a few.
