“Lives of the Queens of England fromthe Norman Conquest” vol 1-16 by Agnes Strickland Happy new Year from Charter Oak Books! Magnificent 16 volume complete set of“The Lives of the Queens of England from the Norman Conquest” by Agnes Strickland, printed only for subscribers and limited to 1000 copies, of which this is no. 486. It is printed on Japanese vellum paper, with tissue covered brilliant chromolithograph color engravings. Set has been well cared for. There is no corner bumping. Books are bound in red cloth, with paper labels. Bindings are firm and text is clean. Lithographs are tissue covered, with printed descriptions. Covers show minimal fading, there are a few light marks to some of the cover boards, but overall condition is excellent condition. Very rare complete set, offered at a low starting bid with no reserve. The set occupies 23 inches of shelf space, almost 2 feet. Each volume measures 9 x 6 x 1 1/8 inches.
