Old , vintage, antique Violin with case. Backside of case has "PAID APR. 1. 1902" imprinted on it. Case measures 28" long measures 8 1/2" wide at the widest part black in color hinges are a little rusty but work great snap locks are a little rusty but work great lock is broken (may be repaired by someone with this time knowledge) a small portion of the leather strap is intact but most of it is missing t is a small crack in the neck portion of the top case shows years of wear but may be refinished by someone with this type of knowledge inside of case has faded purple fur-like material for lining t are loops in the lining to hold bows (bows are missing) top of the inside of the neck has a flap opening (by pulling a black piece of leather) for storageViolin measures 21" in length measures 7" wide at the widest part tip of the top has a curved scroll design that flows upward t are 4 wooden turners at the tip neck measures 8 1/2" long the body has 2 open scroll design , one on each side of the top strings are missing the wood of the violin is rich brown in color the are minor cosmetic wears to the wood itself t are no cracks, breaks or other holes than the open scroll designsI am not a collector or expert on this piece. I do not know its history other than it belonged to an elderly person whose family had no use for it. Please ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them.
