1902 Wilmington Peaches (AA) Cabinet Photo and Pin With Jesse Frysinger. Newspaper accounts say the Wilmington Peaches had a 93-34 record playing both minor and major league teams in 1902. The manager was a promising baseball talent named Jesse Frysinger. After jumping teams and leagues in 1903 and 1904, Frysinger sadly passed away at the age of 33 from an infection after having an appendicitis. A few members of this team did have brief careers in the majors. The 12-man squad is pictured with a young African-American boy and a goat who would have served as team mascot and probably named "Peaches." The crisp and well-defined 5x3-3/4" image shows hardly any sign of wear. The bottom right corner reads, "WILMINGTON A. A., 190_". The thick card mount shows minor wear. Also included is a rare Whitehead & Hoag 1-1/4" celluloid pin of the 1902 team. Stained with original paper liner. Grade: 0, Service: Appraised, Service No.: 2214337
