This set contains over 1,200 colour plates, b&w illustrations, photographs, maps, and a hand-coloured frontispiece to each volume. History of Egypt from 330 B.C. to the Present Time. The first nine volumes are edited by A. H. Sayce, and translated by M. L. McClure. The first nine volumes are by Prof. Maspero, who closes his history with the conquest of Alexander the Great. The professor was famous French Egyptologist, Gaston Maspero (1846-1916). T is no stated date of publication. The next three volumes (numbered as volumes X to XII on the spine, but as I to III on the title pages,) were prepared by Dr. S. Rappoport, who drew heavily from more contemporary authorities, such as Prof. W. M. Flinders Petrie. Each of these volumes bears a publication date of 1904. A supplementary volume (XIII), "History of Egypt in the Light of Recent Discovery", by King and Hall, was published by the Grolier Society in 1906.
