1903 Patent Ellis Offset 6" Pivot Head Crescent Wrench Offered is a very rare Ellis, 6" pivoting head adjustable wrench. It is clearly marked with the 1903 patent date. Although it is only 6" long, the head measures a full 1/2" thick. It is in very fine condition. It shows no signs of having been abused or overly worn. The crescent adjustment is extremely smooth over it's whole range. The pivoting action of the head is also very smooth. This is a rare version with no provision for locking the head in any position. Some of the later wrenches feature a little spring loaded lever on the bottom which engages one of three notches in the head to hold it in position. This one was either not made that way, or never had that feature installed at the factory. Overall this is a fine example of a very rare wrench. Offered without reserve. Bid often and bid high :) .
