Buttplate for the 1903 Springfield M-1 or M-2 .22 cal. training rifle. This butt plate is stamped with the drawing number on the back side of the buttplate, " C 3831". It has the Dark Green WWII Parkerized finish. It is "new" and has never been installed on a rifle. I washed the cosmoline off of it. It is in excellent condition and has 99 plus % of the original Dark Green parkerized finish remaining. T is no rust, pitting or damage of any kind on the buttplate! It has the Heavy Coarse National Match type Milled Checkering. These were originally made for the .22's but work VERY well on the Springfield, Rock Island, Remington or Smith Corona A-3 service rifles. I have used them on several of mine and really like them. They don't move around on the shoulder as much as the smooth or lightly checkered types. Hope one of you can use it.
