You are bidding on an original lineman's telephone from Western Electric Company. Stamped Western Electric Company and dated August 18, 1903 on receiver phone. Numbered - D 14842 on handle, D 2759570 on ear piece and D 27594 on mouth piece. Leather carrying case with shoulder strap measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/2". The leather is in very good condition with no breaks in the stitching. Wood faced unit numbered - D 14843, under the Western Electric script. The two fasteners to side access for the battery compartment are missing. I am not familar with this telephone outfit. I was told this is a crank phone and it originally came with a crank handle. But was told any Western Electric crank handle would fit this unit. Fairly heavy weighting ten pounds. Used and in very good condition. Questions? Please email me. Thanks for looking!
