The Remington M1903A4 is the sniper version of the Springfield 1903 A3 military rifle. This trigger guard can be identified as being made for the sniper 1903 A4 by the folded sheet steel pad that is welded into the space between the front of the magazine box and the front guard screw (shown below). The purpose of this pad is to stabilize the trigger guard by providing contact with the stock. This information can be found in the book The M1903 Springfield Rifle And Its Variations by Joe Poyer, on pages 248 and 249. Finish is gray parkerizing. NOTE: This part has what appear to be two stress cracks w the magazine well meets the trigger area, shown below. High bidder should consider their purchase FINAL.
