Awesome! 1904 First Edition Cameo Edition 10 Volume Complete Set The Works of Edgar Allan Poe is a wonderful set of antiquarian hardcover books that would be a terrific addition to a collection! Attention collectors and lovers of Edgar Allan Poe!!! You are bidding on a rare 10 volume hardcover set titled The Works of Edgar Allan Poe. This scarce edition is called "The Cameo Edition." They are bound in beautiful red cloth! This is a very rare and early edition! This is a 1st edition of this set by this publisher! The books are bound in bright red cloth boards with a cameo design on font cover. The design is generally regarded to be the bust of the goddess Athena. This design is usually rubbed off on these sets. The cameos designs are in very good condition on this set (one cameo is somewhat rubbed out of ten books!). That is a rarity in itself! Each volume has an illustrated frontispiece protected by a tissue guard. Complete vintage sets of Edgar Allan Poe are very difficult to find.The interior of the books is very clean with no signs of foxing anyw! It is very scarce to find such an early set of Poe's Works in a complete set. These were published by Funk & Wagnalls Company, 1904. This is the first edition. Condition: The covers are very securely attached. Previous owner name on inside front covers. Pages are very clean and tightly bound. One volume has a small tear to edge of spine (about 1/3"). All covers are securely attached with no splitting of the hinges. This is a solid, clean set in very good condition. Complete, antique sets of Edgar Allan Poe are getting very difficult to find and are appreciating in value rapidly! Would make a super addition to a collection! Great gift idea!
