Up for bidding is a $1 token from the Compania de Salitres de Antofagasta of Chile, circa 1904. It is red/blue vulcanite, round, 21mm in diameter, and has beaded dots around the edges on both sides. The obverse, in red, is embossed with a logo and stamped with 90887 . The reverse, in blue, reads COMPANIA DE SALITRES / $1 / DE ANTOFAGASTA .The Compania de Salitres de Antofagasta was a nitrate mining company, operating since the mid-1800s. Antofagasta is in northern Chile, along the coast.The token is circulated. It is all still legible. Please examine the photographs for further details and quality.Thanks for looking!
