1904 BAUM/NEILL MARVELOUS LAND OF OZ, DISBOUND FOR THE MOST PART, WITH FADED GREEN COVER, 11 COLOR PLATES ONLY; MISSING TWO LEAVES (15/16 & 75/76 out of the full 287) IN ADDITION TO THE HALF TITLE AND TITLE PAGES. Has the Fred Stone & David Montgomery endpapers, although the back one has the left corner torn off. This book was well-read and shows the wear. Although t are many wonderful pages, t are also some that are chipped (esp at edges w pages fell out and were not in line with their signatures) and t is some foxing to some pages. are the captions that go with the 11 existing color plates to help you figure out which ones are missing in this edition:THE FACES LOOKED UPON THE ASTONISHED BAND WITH MOCKING SMILES.THE BOY STRETCHED HIMSELF UPON THE GRASS."IT'S THE FASHION ," SAID THE SOLDIER. THE SAW HORSE ROCKED AND ROLLED OVER THE FIELDS. THE STRANGER REMOVED HIS HAT WITH A FLOURISH. THE MICE HIDE THEMSELVES IN THE SCARECROW'S STRAW. SEATED WITHIN THE THROWN WAS GENERAL JINJUR.THIS CAST A GLOOM OVER THE ENTIRE PARTY. THE GUMP SOARED SWIFTLY AND MAJESTICALLY AWAY.THE TIN WOODMAN PLUCKS THE ROSE.
