I guarantee this is an original item, not a modern copy ’s a superb piece of research material for the collector of early phonographs. It’s a July 1904 copy of Talking Machine News. I quote from the cover: A monthly journal for users and makers of talking machines, cinematographs, and automatic amusement machines of all kinds. Lots of great advertisements from such names as Edison Bell, Columbia, Edison, Gramophone & Typewriter, Odeon, Pathe, Zonophone, Betini, etc, etc. Magazine is in great condition apart form the fact that the centre pages have separated at the stapes. The magazine runs to 36 pages measuring 8 inches x 10 1/2. Lots of news from the talking machine world, including an interview with a record maker, a clever combined record cabinet and model theatre, hints and tips on shaving blanks, supporting horns, etc, etc. T’s an article on what they call the world’s largest record collection, an illustrated list of latest patents, reports of court cases involving phonographs, reviews of new records, and some fascinating small ads at the rear that would make a modern-day collector’s mouth water. One full-page ad is particularly interesting.
