This is a Very Rare Brass key Wind-Up Coca Cola Powder Box with Original "Relieves Fatigue" Paper Label on es complete with very thick Celluloid material of a Vienna Plate girl pictured on the top of the lid.(see pics),hard to get a clear picture through the thick celluloid (sorry). She is also shown in a Western Bottling Company Vienna metal plate in Petretti's 11th Edition page 330 right middle as reference # PVA004.000..shows girl with red flower in hair, wearing white sheer dress over shoulder. The details of the lid is a thick waxy celluloid type material, most used as mainly a salesman sampler, only given out to top sellers and in limited amounts during the early 1900's to drug stores with high volume of sales, like notepads, stamp holders, and postage carriers and bookmarks. This early 1900 -1910 has a rare red lettered 1907 label on left side of girl shoulder approx. 2 1/2" wide. The metal lid is a thick concave tin material and stands 2 1/2" high by 3 3/4" wide. The Base is concaved as well to support a powder puff (no longer around) inside the hollow opening. It is 4 3/4" at its widest point with the Brass Wind up at the bottom which works when turned a few times and plays a nice song when lid is removed, and stops when lid is returned. The wood bottom still has the Original Paper Label which shows the original rare slogan:....COMPLIMENTS THE COCA COLA Co....."COCA COLA RELIEVES FATIGUE"..This SLOGAN can be found in the back of Petretti's guide page 671 middle which dates this piece to 1906...This early Celluloid Tin Musical box is extremely rare and I have only seen ONE other in all the years of collecting.Over all condition of top celluloid label is in pretty good shape and the metal is unpolished and faded from oxidation. The bottom brass key works, music plays as stated above.Original paper label on bottom is mostly intact with top right corner missing and bottom left corner missing, words are still readable.(Note) page 489 shows more complimentary celluloid items from Atlanta Ga. showing a 1902-1906 date, note the tail located in "Co" of Company..Does have small prong supports for tiny feet from the detoriated cork have come off, easy fix with new cork,so not to scratch any surface while it sits, very minor. The overall condition is very good, despite the missing cork feet,no cracks or breaks in the metal and the music box still plays well, with a few turns of the brass key at base, original label at base is 80 % intact and celluloid lid fits tight and still displays well given the age.One of the rarest Coca Cola items I have seen and I believe this was from main The Atlanta office,or The Western Bottling Company which also issued the Vienna Metal Plates, with the same girl and matches the same date period as well 1906..Nice 100+ year old celluloid piece for the collector looking for Very Rare Coca Cola items not mass produced, the only other one sold for over 800.00 over seven years ago.I will Not end this Auction Early !!!!Good Luck Bidding !!!!!
