1907 $20 High Relief, Flat Rim AU58 NGC. Famous for its limited mintage and the beauty of its design, the 1907 High Relief Saint-Gaudens double eagle enjoys a status few other American coins have achieved. Examples are always in demand, and collectors who save no other gold coins will bid feverishly on a High Relief whenever one is offered. The present coin is an example of the Flat Rim variety, which is four or five times as rare as the Wire Rim type. The central design elements exhibit the sharp details expected of the High Relief, while the peripheral devices show the typical softness found on this issue. The lustrous yellow-gold surfaces are accented by rose highlights. Grade: 58, Service: NGC, Service No.: 9136, Issue Date: 1907, Denomination: $20, Variety: HR, Flat
