1907 $20 High Relief, Wire Rim MS62 NGC

1907 $20 High Relief, Wire Rim MS62 NGC. The celebrated High Relief Saint-Gaudens double eagle has often been called the most beautiful U.S. coin. The tiny mintage of 12,367 pieces was divided between the Wire Rim and Flat Rim varieties, with the Wire Rims produced first, and in larger quantities. This attractive MS62 example shows the basined fields and high relief of the central devices in extraordinary detail. Like most examples seen, the peripheral elements show a touch of softness. The pleasing yellow-gold surfaces show few signs of contact and the vibrant mint luster adds to the considerable eye appeal. Grade: 62, Service: NGC, Service No.: 9135, Issue Date: 1907, Denomination: $20, Variety: HR, Wire
