I will be listing tons of sports newspapers in the next two weeks, so please bookmark me and check out my auctions. All the newspapers are original and not reproductions. This auction is for a group of sports newspapers from the Chicago Daily Tribune from July,1908 to December, 1908, 6 months of newspapers. TONS of local coverage for the Chicago Cubs (they won the world series that year), Chicago White Sox with lots of illustrations and rare photos. You will read original box scores of the Chicago Cubs that year as well as seeing box scores with Ty Cobb, Christy Mathewson, etc. It includes the Merkle re-play game (I sold the actual game newspaper in a separate auction). You can see the final months of the 1908 baseball season, the one w Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb won batting titles, Christy Mathewson and Cy Young won tons of games, etc. As stated before TONS of Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox news for the fan who wants to engross themselves in the day-to-day baseball games. Great articles you could read for hours...and then re-sell if you want to recoup some of your investment. T is also coverage of the 1908 Olympics in London, car racing, boxing, any sports that happened during this time period. Also, t are hundreds of ads including Coca Cola, automobiles, department stores, etc. And don't forget the sports "comics" - Whether you want to do some reading on a 100-year old newspaper or break this down and re-sell, this is a winner. Please read: These newspapers are very old, so t will be chipping and shaving during transit. Newspapers are brittle by nature, and I will ship very carefully in bubblewrap, but please don't expect perfect condition. Also, except for a few pages which I took out (I sold the world series newspapers in a separate lot), I have not had a chance to inventory it. I have not cherry picked it myself, but the newspapers are sold "As-Is" . I only flipped through the pages to take pictures to give you a basic idea of what's in t Shipping/Handling: In the 48 contiguous United States, shipping is FREE. This is bulky, so I will send USPS media mail which may take 2-4 weeks. I am shipping from Southern CA. You may get it sooner, but just letting you know that it may take a few weeks and that's to save both of us money (I'm taking care of shipping and you're not paying anything). Of course, if you can't wait that long and want me to ship USPS parcel post, your cost would be $75.00 Payments: We accept Paypal, personal checks, money orders. CA residents please add 8.25% sales tax unless you furnish resale ID. Alaska, Hawaii, and International customers pay $75.00.
