1908 RPPC Kootenay River BEDFORD FERRY Boat Barge Nelson B.C. mailed in Canada...antique original 1908 Real Photo Postcard captioned: "Belford Ferry" (the first 'e' in Belford is assumed) ~ signed in the negative by photographers -- their names are a bit indistinct, but it looks like "Hayes & Brown", or "Harper & Braun" -- or some combination thereof ~ in doing Web research on "former official Canadian place names", I came across an entry for "Belford, B.C., unincorporated area, Kootenay Land District, GPS coordinates 49 28 40 N by 117 24 30 W" ~ entering these coordinates in Google puts the pointer near the intersection of Blewett and Bedford Roads in Nelson, British Columbia; it's just a short jog northward from there up to the banks of the Kootenay (Kootenai) River (or a finger of the Kootenay Lake), just west of the river crossing between Taghum Hall Road and Granite Road ~ mailed at Edmonton, Alberta on 22 July 1908, with a message about just arriving in Lloydminster ~ in VERY GOOD condition with rippling and circular postal impressions on image; some postal ink smears; rounded corners with small bends; light surface smudges Please see the condition note above, and please super-size the scans to best ascertain the content and condition of this item.
