You are bidding on an original 1st year 1908 hardbound edition of 'Scouting For Boys' by Robert Baden Powell. This is the original edition of the first ever handbook that started Boy Scouting in England...to be followed in 1910 by the Boy Scouts of America. In 1908 the original first Boy Scout Handbook was issued in England in six parts called the 'Fortnightly' editions. Later in 1908 because of high demand the original bound editions of 'Scouting For Boys' were published in four impressions. The book you are bidding on is the 3rd Impression that was printed in 1908. The cover is a rare hardbound version that is black and says 'Scouting For Boys Baden Powell' on the spine. This book is in great readable overall condition. The pages have darkened with age, and one page is loose. The spine has separated somewhat w the page is loose. This will be a treasure to someones collection as we fast approach the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scout movement next year. As always my auctions are guaranteed to your complete satisfaction!!!
