Souvenir program " HOME-COMING AND SEMI-CENTENNIAL OF LINCOLN - DOUGLAS DEBATE, 1858 - 1908 ". Program has 8 pages with heavy paper cover, held together with a braided cord. Pages measure 5 by 8 inches. In very good condition, showing some wear for its age; however, the back cover is torn with pieces missing - this program appears to have at one time been pasted in a scrapbook. Has a picture of the Alton, Illinois, City Hall, w the debate between Lincoln and Douglas took place on Oct. 15, 1858. Other pictures are Franklin House, the hotel that was Lincoln's headquarters; Alton House which was Douglas' headquarters (this building was destroyed by fire at the end of the Civil War. Program also has a picture of the Lovejoy Monument, a memorial to a pioneer of the anti-slavery movement. This is a great piece of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia.
