1909-S U.S. Indian Head Penny

Up for auction is a PHENOMENAL & RARE KEY DATE 1909-S U.S. Indian Head Penny. The 1909-S Indian Head Penny is one of the key dates of the series, with only a limited number of coins issued! This coin is truly a wonderful item and investment, especially considering that it has already been slabbed, graded and CERTIFIED an Official Fine Fifteen by the ANACS GRADING SERVICE, one of the more respected and trusted services available to collectors. This is an excellent opportunity for collectors of U.S. Small Cents to own one of the more scarce issues of the Indian Head Penny series.

Coin has some excellent remaining detail, with some small detail elements remaining in the obverse bust and face, with eye, facial features and characteristics all visible and distinct. Furthermore, obverse shows distinction in the feathers of the headdress, along with most of the letters in "LIBERTY" evident. Reverse shows clear separation in the wreath, along with raised and pronounced text. Overall, coin shows mild wear and dulling of the raised portions of detail. Both surfaces have brown appearance, with minor to mild scratch and contact marks. Coin has some toning spots and dirt hidden in recesses. Rim shows excellent distinction and shows no significant distractions, dents or misshaping. Please Note, item was pictured with a scanner, while housed in its holder—some scratches made be a result of the scanner, and exist on the scanner glass, and not on the coin itself. This is a wonderful coin for collectors wishing to expand their growing U.S. Coin Collections!
