As we continue traveling in Italy searching for special treasures to bring to you on Ebay, we are always looking for one of our favorite treasures - the Italian Hand Painted Ex-Voto. We view them as one of the most beautiful and fascinating of the Italian Religious Art Forms. As we travel and collect these painted ex-votos we are always captivated by the different artistic styles which originate from the different regions of Italy. This week we are very pleased to present four distinctive Painted Ex-votos for you. Please check our other Auctions. IN THIS AUCTION we are offering an Italian Painted Ex-Voto from 1909. The painting is so striking with two women dressed in black praying side by side to the Madonna and child. Aside from the chair, this canvas is devoid of furniture; t is a glowing golden light behind the two praying women. The painting bears the initials V.F.G.A. and the Date. These letters stand for the Latin inscription "Votum Fecit Gratiam Accepit". It translates to "Offering (Ex-Voto) made to Give Thanks for Favors or Graces Received". These letters often appear on Ex-voto paintings. It is also signed by the artist Peirano. We have had other pieces by this well-known ex-voto artist (whom we think is from the Piedmont area of Italy). And, as always, because these paintings were made after the prayers had been received,
