Inauguration Badge, Taft - Sherman Inauguration in 1909. Three part brass and white metal badge with paper photo behind celluloid. Medals were made by Bastian Bros Co., Rochester, NY. Sewn on Blue Silk ribbon. Bright Rubs to high points of lower medal keep it from being a mint condition piece. Comes with a family letter dated Mar. 3 1908 appointing a Mr. A. C. Martin as the County Committeeman for the town of Seneca Falls in 1908. Letterhead is Republican County Committee, Seneca County, Waterloo, NY. Letter is signed J.B.H. Mongin, chairman. Photos of letter were difficult to reproduce for Ebay, but the letter goes with the badge. Mr A.C.Martin was presumed to have been the recipient of the Badge for the Inaugural.
