Up for bids is this 1909 S VDB Lincoln Cent/Penny. (Let me just say that we are not in the business of selling coins, so we do not no how to rate this penny.) We do know that the wheat sheaves are very visible & Lincoln's ear can be very well seen, not to mention the cheek bones & hollows of his face & the detail of his hair. I know how coins were graded back in the 60s, but it's so different now & I've tried to figure it out, but it's way too confusing & complicated! Please look at photos, we believe they tell the story. The photos are of the actual penny we are selling. We start our auctions at low starting prices. This does not reflect what we feel an item is worth, but just allows more people to enjoy the bid process so bid accordingly & have fun! Honestly, we didn't really know where to start the bids on this one! Insurance is included & shipping will be free. How we came to have this penny: My father started out collecting coins in the 1960s. This penny was one from his collection & has been in the safe, under cover, since the late 1960s. I can remember many nights when mom, dad, & all 3 of us kids would set around the kitchen table sorting pennies from the bags that dad had purchased from the banks.
