Up for auction is an antique pair of eyeglasses, nose glasses; they come with original chain and hairpin, made from 1/10 12K gold, they come in their original brown leather case with velvet interior.Measurements: Rim to rim: 4 inches. Glass measures 1-1/2 inches long and a little over 1-1/4 inches high. The chain measures: 11 inches. The hairpin measures: 2-1/2 inches.The interior under the nose states 1/10 12K STIC-TITE. Nose pieces move to adjust to your nose size. The left eyeglass has a chip in it (see pics). Brown leather case is marked Geo. R. Gustafson, Joliet's Optometrist & Optician, 323 Clinton St. Case is brown leather and brown velvet-lined. It is not in perfect condition, it is very old, has wear spots, but overall opens/closes very nicely. The gold chain is not attached to the hairpin. T is a small hole in the hairpin w it attaches, it is attached to the glasses, however. I am sorry I cannot get a clear pic of the marking, but it says what I stated above, guaranteed. I found an add on google advertising these glasses and they date from the early 1900s. The add for Stic-Tite glasses dated September 1909.Please ask any questions that you may have prior to bidding and if you need further pics, please send email.
