1910-S $10 MS62 NGC. Breen-7114

1910-S $10 MS62 NGC. Breen-7114. The mintmark is clearly repunched. Described as "extremely rare" in Breen's 1988 Encyclopedia, though a number undoubtedly lurk unidentified within collections. The present khaki-gold example has vibrant luster and minimal marks. The 1910-S has a relatively high mintage but is scarce in Mint State due to the pre-World War Western tradition of using "hard money" in place of currency. Grade: 62, Service: NGC, Service No.: 8867, Issue Date: 1910-S, Mint Mark: S, Denomination: $10
