RARE Impressive heavy crystal AMERICAN BRILLIANT cut pattern FOOTED DECANTER with MATCHING STOPPER manufactured by the MAJESTIC CUT GLASS COMPANY, operating out of the Corning and Elmira New York area in the early 20th century. The company's blanks were supplied by Belgium, and the PAIRPOINT CORPORATION.This BREATHTAKING intricately DEEPLY cut FOOTED DECANTER and STOPPER with STARS and elaborate geometric designs comes direct from the upstate New York estate of descendants of the PERLING family, founders of MAJESTIC. Decanter with stopper measures very slightly under 12 inches tall overall -- stopper is 3-1/2 inches long and decanter is a bit under 10 inches tall by itself. Width 3-1/2 inches across base. Crystal is think, and rings beautifully. Weighs about 3-3/4 pounds!An OUTSTANDING and gorgeous example from this period of American fine crystal/glass manufacturing. VERY GOOD CONDITION. No chips fleas or rough spots found. Edges still quite crisp. Base has some ultra-light surface scratches and signs of abrasive wear -- very acceptable and all commensurate with its age (and from sitting on a shelf for 100 years). I think the family tended to hold onto factory seconds, although I don't see anything on this particular piece that might qualify as a flaw.
