1910 RPPC FALL RIVER, MA MASS WalshÂ's Store âe(tm)s another unused, divided-back, real photo post card from an old and diverse Fall River collection. Captioned on back- âeoeMaggie & Bridget- Jim Walshâe(tm)s Store, 1482 Plymouth Ave. F. R. 1910,âe it shows a young mother and baby daughter (or perhaps an older sister with her infant sister) sitting outside in front of the store. An advertising broadside can be seen in the left side window stating, in part, something about a âe~store closing- Wednesday July 27, 1910,âe(tm) as well as a âe~picnic-business menâe(tm)sâe(tm) and he word âe~lake.âe(tm) T is also a sign advertising âe~Climax Plugâe(tm) tobacco at the lower front window. We also can barely make out a sign advertising âe~chocolateâe(tm) and a box in front of the store with âe~breadâe(tm) on it, so we have to assume Walsh ran a grocery or variety store. The photo was likely taken by an amateur because it is darker than normal and the left edge was imperfect on the negative used for printing. With very minor corner wear, this 98 year old survivor is still in very good condition. Questions? - just email us. Visit all of our auction listings for many old things of worth, wonder and whimsy.
