Very interesting printed scarce green cacheted cover for 1911 First Official United Kingdom Aerial Post (Coronation Flight) under the approval of the Royal Mail Postmaster General, flown from London to Windsor, franked with 1d King George V definitive stamp tied weak, but mostly readable Sep 12 1911 special Coronation Flight postmark, to London. Enclosed note, on official flight stationery, still present, noting that the writer was "sending this letter by the first aerial post ..."These special flights took place between Sep 9-16 1911 in honor of the Coronation of King George V. Special official envelopes, note sheets and post cards were prepared and sold for the historic event. The runs were scheduled daily, except for Sep 13 and 5, when they were cancelled because of inclement weather.
