1911 Missouri First Year of Issue State License Plate

This plate is numbered 12849. My license plate collecting book states that 16,420 vehicles were registered in the state this year. This one is devoid of original paint - it should have white letters on a yellowish background. It has torn and damaged bolt holes - in particular for the two upper mounting holes. The lower holes are not quite so bad. It is of the two piece design as were all MO plates up to and including 1915. A second image shows the makers mark on the center of the backside. Low starting bid and no reserve. You set the price. I will pack well and ship promptly. Buyer only pays the exact amount for postage and no handling or packing fee. The early automobiles in this era shook violently when they were running. Could that be part of the reason that plates are seen now with elongated holes as is evident on this plate (?). It saw some usage in its day, that is for sure. Good luck.
