This auction presents a really lovely--and quite large--Sterling Silver urn-shaped VASE. It was made by the Philadelphia firm of Simons Brothers and is dated "1911". The vase is an impressive 13" high and 4 1/4" across at the base. It is solid silver not weighted and weighs 2 pounds 12 ounces or about 40 troy ounces. This piece is beautifully engraved with a classic floral and scroll design. The neck of the vase is narrow and flares to a graceful scalloped top. T is a very stylized monogram ("H"??) on the body of the vase and the same on the base with the date, "1911". The bottom has the factory's maker's mark, "STERLING" and is numbered "D3891". This impressive vase is in excellent estate condition with no dents, "dings" or noticeable scratches. It has been lightly cleaned for photos but could use a professional polishing. This stunning Sterling Silver urn will be a worthy addition to any collection--and it is offered with No Reserve! U.S. Priority shipping and very careful packing will vary with your postal zone. Please see the USPS estimate above.
