A gorgoeus, rare, and stunning Barling from 1912 !This week is a continuation of excellent examples of old English pipes from my collection...and this selection is the best yet! This pipe was made by Barling in 1912 ! It is one rare pipe to say the least and is in mint condition: round, centered, and clean chamber, sharp rim edges, clean rim, STRAIGHT GRAIN that would make Castello blush, and a beautiful and original amber stem. This pipe is from 1912 , and it has it all. It's as minty as an estate pipe can be, even for a pipe that is over 95 yrs old! The stem has a very minor tooth wave, but it does not detract from the appearance. The case is original and is in the same remarkable condition as the pipe, and the mouthpiece functions perfectly. This is truly a smokeable piece of pipe smoking history...from 1912! The carvers at Barling could make pipes like no one else in their day. A simply gorgeous smoking instrument. As previous buyers know, I only sell pipes that are clean, sterilized, and ready to enjoy the moment you receive it.Please note: the pipes I'm listing this week are from my collection and most, if not all, are very old and have factory sterling bands. That was the norm in that era. They are NOT repairs, but are factory sterling fitments. If you need more photos/info please let me know as I am to help you. The listings this week are the last of the very early Barling, Bewlay, and other English pipes that I have studied over these many years. Enjoy!4 1/2" x 1 5/8" Dunhill group 3+ capacity.
