Contains roughly 200 photographs that capture a transitional period in naval architecture and shows how some remnants of sailing ship design lingered well into the era of steam-power. Brief technical descriptions beneath each photo capture key dimesions and armament of each ship. Contains a supplement and photographs on the Revenue Cutter Service by Capt. Preston Uberroth.
