That's exactly what I said when this tray was pulled out of a box at a fabulous family estate auction held in the Midwest. The condition is exceptionally great. It desperately needs a soft polish but I am selling this tray exactly as purchased at auction with the old patina. This tray, along with a tea set I have listed, were part of a large collection of silver purchased from this old family estate. I am not certain, but I believe this platter/tray matches the pattern of the wedding tea set. T are no dents or dings that I can detect. T are some surface marks which I have photographed which should polish beautifully. I know it has been in storage for many, many years. The family truly treasured and cherished this piece.It is simple and elegant. Lines are clean and sleek. I have never seen a serving tray as large as this, let alone, of sterling silver. I think this is a rarer piece to find than one might suspect.
