This is a beautiful service set of Adderleys Ltd China in the coveted blue and white "Nankin" pattern. From the registry number and markings on the bottom of these pieces, this set dates to 1914-15. This set consists of: 2 tureens with lids; 4 plates, measuring approx. 10 1/4" in diameter; 1 large platter measuring approx. 11 1/4 by 14"; & 1 gravy boat. The Nankin pattern is just exquisite in design and color. The pattern is Oriental in flavor. The design is so intricate with scrolls, geometric shapes, and the blue is the perfect blue. Notice the design of the handles of the tureens in the leaf formation as well as the tops of each lid in a lettuce or leaf design. There are some hairline crazing or utensil wear in the bottom of one tureen, and there is one small flea bite on the underside edge of one of the plates, other than those minor bites, this shape is in great condition. What a great addition to anyone's blue and white collection or a great service set to use to impress your guests.
