B. Frost and it is titled "Steady Now!" Two springer spaniels flush out some game for the hunter. This is a wonderful framable item for the hunting enthusiast.The contrast is bright and excellent in this print. This is NOT a more recent copy and is in very good condition. No creases. No tears. No rubbing. Image is perfect. It has been magnificently preserved. A truly wonderful historical piece. This item is rated Near Mint/Very Fine according to the grading guidelines outlined by the NAIAA.This item is one of nearly 100 pieces currently offered by Period Paper which come from an exclusive art portfolio put together by Collier beginning in 1898 and completed for this collection of "masterpieces" in 1914. These items came in a specially created portfolio and were well preserved for the last 90+ years. We are offering each item individually and each will have customized packaging as all our special collection pieces do (please see our feedback). This limited edition portfolio was described as "The Masterpieces of 27 Celebrated American Artists." Some of these items were printed sepia, others b/w, and some in one, two, three and four colors. Very scarce and rarely found in this condition, we are pleased to offer these items to the eBay community. A. B. Frost (1851-1928) Arthur B. Frost is perhaps best known for his illustrations for the Uncle Remus tales by Joel Chandler Harris, as well as for realistic hunting, shooting, fishing and golfing prints. Much of his work depicted scenes of rural America and these were often done with a humorous touch. His finely drawn and detailed illustrations appeared in many books and publications, including Harper's Weekly, Scribner's, and Life magazines. PLEASE NOTE: We have had several questions about whether or not pieces from this collection are current reproductions of a 1914 prints. Period Paper has worked over recent years to obtain a few components of these collections and EACH ARE ORIGINALS PRINTED IN 1914 AND ARE NOT REPRINTS OR REPRODUCTIONS. Accompanying this item will be a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the National Archive of Illustration & Advertising Art (NAIAA). This item is certified authentic and will be registered in the NAIAA database and assigned a unique number which will be on the certificate and will be used to identify the digital master file maintained in the database. The NAIAA uses a two-part authentication system and will issue both the COA and a Print Identification label with matching numbers. The certificate and label will have the NAIAA security seal and each are printed on different custom papers and embossed to eliminate reproduction. This certificate is hand-signed and dated and documents the grade issued according to the NAIAA grading system.
