North Carolina was among the many states to issue license plates made of porcelain in the earlier years. This offering consists of a 1914 plate which was the second year for which North Carolina issued plates. The plate is in good displayable condition over all. The porcelain has some gloss, but t is some weathering in the porcelain and some scratches. The only spots of significant chipping are at the upper right, and t are some cracks. The metal grommets in three of the corner bolt holes remain. The emblem of the Baltimore Enamel and Novelty Co. is on the back. This early example of license plate history would be a good addition to your collection.
