ITEM: Rare hardbound African big game hunting book entitled " The Rediscovered Country " by Stewart Edward White. CONDITION: Book is ex-library in very good condition. Soiling and wear on covers. Libraary sticker on inside front cover. Library impression stamp on title page and photograph pages. Pages yellowed with age. Otherwise no marks, stains or writing. Library stickers and stamps on last end page. All pages present and firmly attached. DESCRIPTION: Frst edition published in 1915 by Doubleday, Page & Company. Contains 358 pages and is illustrated with 100 vintage black and white photographs. This book provides the details of hunting and exploration trips taken by the author and R. J. Cuninghame into German East Africa in 1910-1911 and 1913. The following species of big game animals were taken during these hunts: lions, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena, wild dog, warthog, hippopotamus, giraffe, roan antelope, oryx, topi, wildebeeste, Coke's hartebeeste, hartebeeste, buffalo, bushbuck, sitatunga, lesser kudu, greater kudu, bongo, eland, Chandler's reedbuck, sing-sing, Uganda cob, duiker, oribi, steinbuck, klipspringer, Roberts' gazelle, Thomson gazelle, impalla, dik-dik, rhinoceros, zebra, elephant, crocodile, ostrich, jackal, and serval.
