This is a wood piece with a hinge on the bottom and a spring loaded latch on the top. The handle of the latch has the Patent date on the top, it is 'Pat. May 15, 1915'. T is a large screw on each end with a large decorative top. The only thing I can think to call this set is a Salesman sample to show two items that were for sale. The two fancy screws turn freely and the latch works well, the bottom corners of the wood have been beveled but I don't know why. This is a mystery to me, if anyone has a clue, help please. The wood piece is 15" long, 1 7/16" wide and tall, the screws are 4 1/2" long and 2 12/16" wide at the top.
