Hello everyone again, Neblackshirts (Phil) with a 5 /27/09 update to my regular listing below. I decided to have some additional Swiss Francs graded by NGC because as I said below, I collect these coins as well as sell some of them. I also said below that I am a member of NGC and I thought the coins I am selling would grade MS-63 to 65. Well, I was right! Every coin I sent to NGC that was younger than 1910, graded MS-63, 64 or 65. So you can rest assured that the coins you are purchasing from me are about as good as it gets! NGC has NEVER graded a gold Swiss Franc higher than MS-67 as of this writting. Thanks! _______________________________________________________________________________________ Swiss gold 20 francs “Helvetia's” are one of the most popular European gold coins to own and are often considered to be among the loveliest. Helvetias are an excellent choice for bulk gold investors or collectors, looking for attractive, high quality, gold coins at lower prices. Lovely design, fascinating history The obverse of the Swiss Helvetia depicts “Vreneli,” the charming “Swiss Miss” of proverb, framed against the majestic Alps . In reference to this lovely portrait, Helvetia's are sometimes called “Vreneli's.” The reverse has a radiant image of the traditional Swiss arms, featuring the famous Swiss cross, and the wreath of the Republic at the bottom. They also have an edge design of little stars all around the coin. That looks very nice when several are stacked. Swiss currency has never been devalued. Swiss gold coins, like these Helvetia's, are cherished worldwide for their fine gold content and excellent minting. This type was issued from 1897 to 1935, then again in 1947 and 1949. They were not confiscated in 1933 and will likely be spared confiscation in the future if that happens.
