Very interesting US 2c International Postal Card (Scott #UX 25), postmarked Brooklyn, New York/ Flatbush Station, Jul 24 1916, machine cancellation , addressed to Bernhard Böhme, Prisoner of War 19576, Knockaloe Aliens Camp, Camp IV Compound 6 Hut II 6, Isle of Man," violet oval "Alliens' Detention Camp/ Censored/ Knockaloe, I.O.M" at left, notice word "Hosp[ital]" in red ink in center of piece. The message on the reverse, which has one section redacted by the censor, reads, in part, "15 Hawthorne Street, Brooklyn, New York, 7/23/16, My dear Bernhard: About four months ago I have sent by by registered letter one pound English money and hope that you will have received it in the meantime. Alfred promises to let you have one pound too around next month ... I am working with my old firm Elkerfeder F.F. in the Export Department. We are sending considerable quantities of American pharmaceutical products to South America and are extremely busy. If you were here could find something or you, too. Did you read in the papers that a [section erased] is expected soon. Best regards from both of us ... Richard and Olga."
