English made Besson trombone distributed by Carl Fischer of New York. Serial number 10870 stamped on all three pieces. No indication of high or low pitch and we have no horn player on staff to blow it into a tuner, so I measured the tubing at about 112" in closed position. I hope that is useful. Bell diameter is 7". I measure the bore at a little under .500" where bell joins slide section. Bright silver plating in good condition. Some dings in bell, please see photos. Original mouthpiece stamped "B 10 Besson &Co Prototype" in nice condition. Tuning slide is free and the main slide works smoothly (that was a surprise). The most interesting feature is the engraving on the bell that reads "Property of the Erie Railroad Company". (When's the last time you were greeted at the station by the Amtrak band?) Old and probably original case is still functional, however, one latch is inoperable. Water key spring needs to be retensioned, then its playable! Pay by PayPal, credit card over the phone. Call Matt or Doug for in-hand description. PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS ITEM IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. NO P.O. BOXES. $30 fixed shipping will be by FedEx ground. ALASKA AND HAWAII will be extra.
