This is the July 1916 issue of Boys' Life, The Boy Scouts Magazine. The issue is completely original and in excellent condition. It is one of several from the teens that I am offering. Issue measures 8 x 11 inches and contains 40 pages. The cover features scouts racing their bikes while a couple cheer them on, waving a flag. This is an issue produced during the first World War, and some of the contents reflect this historic and rousing time of heightened patriotism. Stories include "The Pietro, Penny and Dick's Fourth" by Alice A. and John H. Skeen, "The Secret of the Cave" by Harry Steele, "Slim Jim" (a story about firemen) by Carl Mattison Chapin, The First Class Cooking Test, What Dreams Can Do (Wireless experiments), Fighting a Forest Fire by Henry Graves U.S.F.S., "The Boy Scout Crusoes" by Edwin Burritt, Cave Scout Outdoors, Patriotism, Scout Leadership by Theodore Roosevelt, "Fascinating Woodcraft Stunts of Scouts", with loads of other engrossing stories, information, and great tips for being a better scout. Bicycles and cameras are advertised prominently throughout the issue with other advertisers including Ingersoll watches, camps, food products, the Chalmers automobile, Daisy Rifles, tents, Remington Rifles, Wireless sets, Columbia Gafonola, books, tires, Knives, uniforms, and much more! Back cover is a frameable ad for New Departure Coaster Brakes, nicely related to the front cover! Slight vertical creasing to center of back cover and parts of the issue. Really, a wonderful issue with lots of great content. Buyer is to pay within 10 days and NJ residents must add sales tax. Insurance or international shipping available at additional costs.
