WELCOME TO THE AUCTION!!! Up for sale is a RARE AND UNUSUAL WWI TRENCH LIGHTER. This lighter is oversized, and appears to be a souvenir or display piece due to its size. On one side is the French soldier, but it marked “Paris” on the bottom. On the reverse side of the lighter is the symbolic engraving marked “V. Charles” on the bottom. In this image, the battleship flying the American flag marked “U.S.” heading toward France, with the rooster symbolizing France. Between the battleship and the rooster is the Statue of Liberty, symbolizing the friendship between the two countries. The lighter is 2 ¼” or 2 3/8” round and is estimated to be made in 1916-1918. This lighter is 5 years away from being 100 years old. This is a RARE lighter due to its design and historical connection. This lighter is in the ‘Collector’s Guide to Cigarette Lighters’ by James Flanagan. This is a great design and embodies the WWI era. The lighter is in EXCELLENT condition for its age. This lighter has been a treasured part of my collection, and I’m sure that it would be a great acquisition for you! This lighter displays BEAUTIFULLY. With the condition, scarcity, and age of this lighter, this lighter is a special and rare piece that warrants a prime position in your collection!
