this auction is for item in title description and in the picture or pictures. 1917 REMINGTON BAYONET WW1 WITH GREEN LEATHER SCABBARD. MARKING ON THE BAYONET ARE 1917 CIRCLE WITH REMINGTON INSIDE PART OF REMINGTON HAS WORN OUT. LOOKS LIKE AT SOME POINT OVER THE YEARS BAYONET HAS BEEN FULLY SHARPENED AND CLEANED/POLISHED FOR BETTER APPEARANCE AND DISPLAY PURPOSES. DARK RICH BROWN WOOD STAIN ON HANDLE WAS POLISHED OR SOMETHING TO KEEP IN ORIGINAL LOOKING CONDITION. HOW LONG AGO I DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS WAS DONE. VERY MINIMAL SMALL RUST SPOTS ON THE STEEL HANDLE AREA. NO RUST ON THE BLADE AREA. OTHER MARKS ARE 2 SYMBOLS ON LEFT SYMBOL HAS NO 14 UNDER IT AND U.S AND JUST RIGHT OF THAT MARK IS WORN DOWN FROM BEING SHARPENED. HOPEFULLY CAN SEE IT IN THE PICTURE. GREEN LEATHER SCABBARD IN VERY GOOD CONDITION A GREAT DISPLAY PIECE ALONG WITH BAYONET. LEATHER DOES HAVE SOME SCUFFING BUT SHOWS WELL THE DARK GREEN COLOR. THE BINDING AREA SHOWS NO COMING APART. TS A CIRCLE MARK WITH GF LETTERS INSIDE IT ON THE METAL PART. ALSO LOOKS LIKE THE LETTERS J V or Y K ON THE LEATHER PART MISSING BOTTOM HALF OF SECOND TWO LETTERS. I HAVE CHECKED OUT THE OTHER BAYONETS ON EBAY AND WITH THE SHARPENING / CLEANING THAT WAS DONE AT SOME POINT OVER THE YEARS MAKES THIS BAYONET AND SCABBARD A GREAT LOOKING PIECE FOR SHOW. I WOULD THINK THE EFFORT THE PREVIOUS OWNER PUT INTO KEEPING IT LOOKING LIKE NEW WOULD ENHANCE THE INTEREST OF THIS ITEM FOR THE FUTURE OWNER. Thank You for visiting SPORTS-CASTERS Ebay Store.
