I have for auction a 1918 CONKLIN Black Crescent Filler Fountain Pen !!! If you are reading this, I probably don't have to tell you this Fountain Pen is VERY OLD and VERY RARE !!! The pen appears not to have been used, however, I know nothing about pens so I will leave that determination to you experts. At the very least, this is a nearly century old pen that is in great condition !!! The cap end of the Barrel reads, CONKLIN Crescent Filler Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A.; Pat. MCH. 17, '91 - Oct. 29, '01 - Dec., 1, '03. The bottom half of the barrel reads Trade Mark 20. The pocket clip on the cap reads; CONKLIN Pat. May 28, 1918. The writing tip reads; CONKLIN 2 Toledo. The pen has no cracks, teeth marks, staining or brassing. The pen does not have any significant use marks on either the cap or the barrel, and still has most of the luster which is unbelievable for a pen nearly 100 years old !!! The writing tip has a few very minor staining spots but no pitting. Both tines appear to be in pretty decent condition. Due to the age of the pen, I have never tried to fill the pen with ink, however, the plunger loading mechanism and locking collar are in working order. This pen is being sold for its antique value. Its functionality cannot be guaranteed. I have tried to be as descriptive a possible, but if I have missed anything please fill free to ask. I'm not too good at taking pictures. I tried taking the pictures with various background and lighting sources. The pen actually looks better in plain view. As always, I start my auctions at 99 cents with NO RESERVE !!!
