COLEMAN QUICK LITE

1919 GAS LANTERN / LAMP

WITH ORIGINAL SHADE

WELCOME! Offered is a very nice Coleman Quick-Lite gas lantern or lamp! The bottom of the lamp is marked Made in USA Coleman Lamp Co Whichita, Kansas Colemancq Quick Lite Reg US Pat Off! The darker part of the post near the bottom is marked Coleman Quick-Lite Whichita, Kanasas USA! The post leading to the burner is marked US Pat May 13, 1919 Brittish Patent 153329! I am not an expert on these lamps, but from what I can tell, this one seems to be in very nice condition! The tank has no dents or dings! The knobs all turn freely! One of the rods coming down to the mantle has a slight ding but nothing that would affect the use of it and is hidden by the glass shade! Someone with a bit of patience could likely take the ding right out! The shade is beautifully hand painted and original to the lamp! We obtained this from the estate of a NW Ohio Reverend! The lamp had belonged to his parents! The only flaw I could find other than the afore mentioned ding is in the shade! It has a stress line in it that appears to have been t since it was made! I included a photo from inside (last picture below) showing the line when back lit! That is how i found as it is not easy to see otherwise! The line appears to have been from when it was made as t is green paint covering it in a couple spots on the inside that is identical to the paint used on the exterior! Posssibly a heat check from when it was made! The shade seems to be solid and the line does not reach the rim! It is just too delicate to have been done later in life without shattering it! We pack with lots of high quality large bubble wrap and will double box the shade for added safety in shipping! Lamps like this are extremely rare and getting rarer by the minute! Ones in this nice condition are even more rare! It is 20 inches tall and 11 inches wide! Included below are several photos for your evaluation! We are offering it low and without reserve and a low Buy It Now Price for the collector not willing to risk missing the end or loosing by one bid!
