Ok, I'm not sure how to really tell you the story on this piece but I go. My father had this forever on his dresser since I could remember. It was passed down by my grandfather to my dad some years along the way (1973). I as a kid also loved it for it was a truck and I wanted to play with it. Well of course I was told it was not to be touched. It was an antique from the family. Some years later I got into coke colleting and I begged my mother for the truck. I knew that it was not only worth money but it meant alot to me. So I finally got it as a XMAS gift. I've had it for over 14 years and it sat proudly in my case with the rest of my collection. Now as I see the other ones online and in my book, I know it's an orginal. It was been painted over in blue paint on the sides and on the rims of the metal tires. I do not know who did it but my mother tells me the story was my uncle took it from his dads (grandpa) room and painted it some years ago in the 60's. Ugggghhhhhh only if he knew better. So again, I do not know how that effects he value but for the most part it's a gem of a truck. The tape on the tires w put on to protect the metal rims since the rubber ones came off long long ago. T are only 4 bottles left of the original andI know you can get more but I never did. I just took it for it's character! I think that if the right person who get's this item will be able to possibly refurbish the paint on the truck. Again, as you can see by the pictures, it is an orginal MetalCraft Late 1920's-early 30's Coca Cola Truck. It is not a replica.......as you can see. If you have any questions, please let me know. So you ask the question, Why am I selling it? Well got married and I'm buying a home and I think someone else would greatly appreciate this piece and make it a nice addition to thier collection. I have seen it in books and at online auctions ranging from $400-$1200.00. Of course that varies based on the condition and all. It has scratches, painted in areas, and missing rubber tires but most of them do out t Will see. Good Luck and happy bidding. .
