RARE Original half sheet / 1/2-sheet poster (28" X 22" in size) for the silent film - JENNY BE GOOD (REALART Studios - 1920). This movie drama was based on the book written by Wilbur Finley Fauley. Directed by William Desmond Taylor (1877-1922), the movie stars ... MARY MILES MINTER (1902-1984) & her sister Margaret Shelby (1900-1939). Mary Miles Minter was involved in a scandal in 1922 that cut short her flourishing stardom / motion picture career She rivaled Mary Pickford in demure, sweet "goody" roles, fashionable at the time. Her lover (panties with her initials MMM were found at his home) was much older Director ... Wm. Desmond Taylor (he was 45, she 20). He was murdered (shot dead) & the case was famously unsolved for 50 years by the L.A. Police Dept.. Speculation was that Mary's mother - the controlling Charlotte Shelby killed Mr. Taylor. Ironically the title of this poster "Jenny Be Good" was directed by Wm. Desmond Taylor. My photo scan does not do justice to this poster, it is a "winner". It is difficult because of size (28" X 22"). Great old Doll Shop / or Doll Hospital scene depicted (see photo close up). Backside of poster shown (see photo) in ana ttempt to show the patch repairs made. Printed onto heavy paper stock; this is a vintage U.S. issued poster. The color tinted images / graphics are vivid & beautiful. Good+ condition - slightly soiled, tear at left side margin & neatly patched hole repairs.
